Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs)

What is a Registered Veterinary Technician? The RVT designation means that our techs have completed a two year university course in Animal Health Technology, and are current members in good standing with the BC Veterinary Technicians Association, which requires ongoing continuing education. This means our technicians are constantly upgrading their skills to better treat your pets. An RVT is comparable to a human nurse, assisting our veterinarians by taking blood samples, placing IV’s, taking x-rays, performing dental cleanings, monitoring anesthesia and much more.

Anne, RVT

Anne graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at the University College of the Cariboo (now known as Thompson Rivers University) over 15 years ago. Since then, she has had the chance to work with many species including: snakes, eagles, seals, frogs, and of course dogs and cats. The diversity and constant learning is what keeps her in this line of work. Anne has a special interest in anesthesia and intensive care. When not at work, she spends time with her husband and 2 daughters. She also enjoys knitting, camping and exploring the local trails.

Christina, RVT

Christina graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2006. She spent the majority of her career in a specialized hospital setting working primarily in the ICU. After moving back to her hometown of Tsawwassen, Christina was very happy to have joined the Huff team. She continues to have a special interest in critical care and anesthesia, and treats every pet that comes in the hospital as her own. Christina in her spare time can be found beachcombing with her two kids, gardening, crafting, walking her husky mix Ringo, or riding her horse Alfie.
